About the Artist

Anne Boucher's watercolor and acrylic paintings draw upon the unique beauty of Cape Cod and the New England Coastal region - the beloved fishing wharves of Provincetown, tucked away flower gardens, weathered old buildings full of memory and character, and the expansive, ever-changing and exquisitely beautiful shorelines and bays.

With an inspired sensitivity to her subject matter, Boucher in her paintings captures the fleeting moments between dusk and dark, the movements and intricacies of water and sky, or a slant of light on a Cape landscape or architecture.

Her process begins with explorations on bike, on foot, or in her kayak. "I try not to go out with a pre-conceived idea, but rather a willingness to wander, to let myself get caught up in the spirit of where I am."

"Standing knee deep in the bay, the tide receding, the colors deepening, and the quiet evening settling in - this is how my paintings begin, with moments like these."

Boucher's work is included in the permanent collections of the Cape Cod Museum of Art (Dennis, MA), Duxbury Art Complex Museum (Duxbury, MA), and the Cahoon Museum of American Art (Cotuit, MA). She has won numerous "Best of Show" and "First Place" awards, and her work is collected nationally and worldwide. The Cahoon Museum of American Art and the Southern Vermont Art Center (Manchester, VT) have both held solo exhibitions of her paintings. Additionally, she has been represented in solo and group exhibitions at many fine regional galleries and museums.

Anne Boucher is currently represented by her own gallery, Anne Boucher Fine Art, in West Barnstable, MA.
